Mediating in the Workplace
In 1916 Robert Frost published the poem "The Road Not Taken". The beauty of this poem speaks to the essence of the difference that mediation can make in workplace situations. Listen to his words:
Two roads diverged in a yellow wood,
And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveler, long I stood
And looked down one as far as I could
To where it bent in the undergrowth.
I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I--
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference.
What is this road less traveled in the workplace? Research has shown that workplace conflict can dramatically decrease efficiencies in a corporate setting. The road less traveled is the path of realization.
